When in Rome...go here for the best gelato.
Great selection, prices are reasonable and the owner is super friendly. -

I was recommended this place by a friend who came here previously on a trip to the trevi fountain. As a big ice cream fanatic, I had to try it. Entering inside the shop, there were a lot of people in line.
I ordered a half strawberry half vanilla gelato for 4 euros. It came with a half cut cone on top. The first thing I noticed was that the underside of the cup is indented inwards and really it was much less gelato than it looked like. The gelato itself was delicious. The strawberry had a strong strawberry flavor. The vanilla tasted like real vanilla bean. The gelato was very very thick but not the creamy kind that is like ice cream. There was no cream taste to it at all.
Overall, the gelato was better than I expected and very very tasty. Just like other places I've reviewed in Italy, the reason why it doesn't get a 5 star is that its another tourist trap. The cup contains much less than it looks. -

Great gelato near Trevi fountain! So sweet and creamy! You'll be glad you stopped by. A little $$$ though.

Our first gelato in Rome was from this lovely gelateria next to our hotel. I wanted the Italian experience so I tried the small pistachio. I also got to taste it first since I've never had pistachio ice cream and wasn't quite sure if I'd like it. There were little bits of pistachio throughout. The two young women working were kind and helpful. My son had the dark and regular chocolate at the next size up; he said it was "to die for". Mine was 2.50€ and his was 3€. Very comparable to an ice cream shop in Cleveland.

Conveniently located 3 minutes from my hotel, I decided to drop by here after dinner for a quick dessert.
The shop is fairly small with a single bench. The owner is very charismatic and will talk to you a little as he's getting your gelato for you.
I got a small scoop for 2 euros. I went for the melon flavor since it seems nearly empty. The melon was very light but tasted just like melon. There were even melon bits in it.
I also tried the mango and coconut. Both are super good, I really recommend the mango!
Great gelato and great service.
